At Javelined, we care deeply about privacy. We strive to be transparent about our privacy practices, including how we treat your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and otherwise process the Personal Data of our registered account holders, those who purchase items on Javelined without an account, and those who browse the Service (“users”).

As a global multi-vendor marketplace, Javelined allows users to create accounts and interact with independent sellers through the platform. Javelined operates as a global multi-vendor marketplace connecting buyers with independent sellers worldwide. In certain cases, Javelined may also act as a direct retailer for selected products. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, products listed on the platform are offered and fulfilled by independent sellers.

In this Privacy Policy, we also explain the rights individuals who are affected by our data handling have with regard to their Personal Data, including the right to object to certain types of processing we carry out. For more information, see the Your Rights and Choices section below.

What Information We Collect

Payment information is processed securely by third-party payment providers (such as PayPal, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and bank transfer providers). When you contact us, we collect the information you send us, such as reports, feedback, or inquiries about your use of the Service or information about possible violations of our Terms of Use or other policies.

Chats with merchandise partners

When you chat with sellers or merchandise partners on Javelined, we collect your chat communications and other related information.

User-generated content

When you provide any content (e.g., images, videos, or text) to leave product reviews and ratings, provide images to search for items, or provide images or text to customise products, we collect this information and its associated metadata to support and enable your use of the Service.

Promotion and event participation

We may collect certain information when you participate in a contest, event, promotion, survey, giveaway or sweepstake as part of the participation process, such as your desired prize selection. Such sweepstakes and contests are voluntary. We recommend that you read the rules and other relevant information for each sweepstake and contest that you enter. We facilitate adding items to your shopping cart, enable provision of customised products using your user-generated content, allow you to communicate and chat regarding your orders with sellers or marketplace partners on Javelined (multi-vendor marketplace), receive and process your orders using account and profile and purchases information, process your payments using information from our payment processors (such as PayPal, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard or bank transfer), deliver products to you using information from logistics service providers and third-party mapping platforms, or facilitate sellers for delivery purposes, where applicable.

We facilitate order disputes, refunds and/or returns of your orders using information categories including chats with sellers, customer support activity, purchases, general location data, information from logistics service providers, delivery information and information from our payment processors.

Provide search results and listings

For example, when you search for a particular item, we will present a selection of items matching your search criteria using information categories, including general location data, service usage information and user-generated content.

Contest, event, promotion, survey, giveaway or sweepstake

If you have agreed to terms as part of a contest, event, promotion, survey, giveaway or sweepstake, we will facilitate your participation using promotion and event participation information and general location data, verify your identity using your account and profile information, inform you about the result using service usage information, and deliver the prize using purchases data, in line with the relevant terms and rules.

In accordance with your settings, we make available your user-generated content such as reviews, usernames, and profile images on product pages and your profile.

Javelined is a global marketplace based in Germany. We care deeply about privacy. In certain circumstances described in this Privacy Policy, we share your Personal Data with the following parties for the purposes outlined below. Please note that some of these recipients, including sellers (merchandise partners), may be based outside of the EU, EEA and Switzerland. All transfers of Personal Data outside these regions are conducted in accordance with GDPR-compliant mechanisms to ensure an adequate or essentially equivalent level of data protection.

Affiliates

Our Service may be supported by affiliated entities and service partners worldwide. We share some Personal Data with these affiliates as necessary to provide organisational, technical, legal, and compliance support for the Service, including for order fulfilment and core platform functions.

Service providers

Sellers do not receive full payment information or sensitive device data and must process Personal Data only for order fulfilment and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Other users

Sellers may act as independent data controllers for the Personal Data they receive and process in order to fulfil orders and provide customer service.

5.Global Operations and Data Transfers

To support our global operations at Javelined:

We store the information described in the “What Information We Collect” section in servers located in the United Kingdom and the EEA.

Certain of our subsidiaries and affiliates, located outside the EU, EEA, and Switzerland, are given, under standard contractual clauses (or their approved equivalent for Switzerland), limited access to some of your Personal Data to provide organisational, technical, legal, and compliance support for the Service, including for the purposes of order fulfilment and other core platform functions. We share your Personal Data with service providers and other third parties described in the “How and Why We Share Your Information” section above, which can be located outside the EU, EEA, and Switzerland.

All of our subsidiaries, affiliates, service providers, and other third parties described in the “How and Why We Share Your Information” section above are bound to process your Personal Data in compliance with applicable privacy laws and, if located outside the EU, EEA, and Switzerland, to implement appropriate security measures and safeguards to grant the same level of protection to your Personal Data as is guaranteed within the EU.

When we transfer your information outside of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland, we ensure it benefits from an adequate or essentially equivalent level of data protection by relying on:

  • Adequacy decisions: These are decisions from the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR (or equivalent decisions under other laws) which recognise that a country offers an adequate level of data protection. We can transfer your information detailed under the “What Information We Collect” section, as described in the “How and Why We Share Your Information” section, to some countries with adequacy decisions.
  • Standard contractual clauses: The European Commission has approved contractual clauses under Article 46 of the GDPR that allow companies in the EEA to transfer data outside the EEA. These contractual clauses (and their approved equivalent for Switzerland) are called standard contractual clauses.
