Recalls

If we're notified of a recall by a manufacturer, we'll stop selling the item as soon as possible. We'll notify customers who have bought the affected product and inform them of the recall measures initiated by the manufacturer or the relevant authorities.

2. Lithium-Ion Battery Safety

Lithium-ion batteries are widely used and generally safe. They include built-in safety features.

Lithium-ion batteries are found in many products, including mobile phones, laptops, electric vehicles, and generators. In rare cases, lithium-ion batteries may overheat, catch fire, or explode.

A lithium-ion battery may become defective for the following reasons:

  • Overcharging: An overcharged battery may rupture, overheat, catch fire, or explode.
  • Extreme temperatures: Extreme cold and heat can affect battery charging. Make sure to store batteries at moderate temperatures.
  • Impacts: Impacts that cause dents or punctures may create dangerous situations during charging, including overheating, fires, or explosions.

Follow these safety tips:

  • Carefully read and follow all manufacturer instructions and warnings.
  • If a battery bulges, swells, smokes, or overheats, stop using and charging it immediately.
  • Do not leave a battery unattended while charging.
  • Use the power adapter intended for your specific product.
  • Do not store the battery in direct sunlight, under extreme temperatures, or under heavy objects.
  • When charging, ensure that the battery and power adapter are not in contact with other objects and that no flammable materials are nearby.
  • Do not open or disassemble the battery or power adapter.

3. Product Insurance Subscriptions

Your Product Insurance Subscriptions
 

You authorise Javelined and/or its affiliates ("Javelined", "us" or "we") to charge you subscription amounts (including applicable taxes where appropriate) for your subscription. For each subscription, you will be charged the first subscription amount when your subscription order is processed and you will be charged subsequent subscription amounts on a monthly basis. Your subscription will continue and you will be charged monthly until cancelled or until the maximum term (if any) of such subscription (as specified by the third-party seller of such subscription) is reached (whichever is earlier).

We will charge subscription amounts to your selected payment method. If we are unable to charge any subscription amount using your selected payment method, you authorise us to update your subscription with another payment method we have on record for you and to charge that payment method for your subscription. If we do not have another payment method on record for you or are unable to charge any payment method we have on record for you, you have 14 days to provide us with a new payment method. If you provide us with a new payment method and are successfully charged within such 14-day period, your subscription will continue based on the original subscription date and not the date of the successful charge. If you fail to provide us with a new payment method or are not successfully charged within such 14-day period, your subscription will be cancelled.

Summaries of your subscription activity, including any relevant statements, are available in Your Memberships and Subscriptions . Except as required by law, you are solely responsible for (a) compiling and retaining permanent records of all transactions and other data associated with your subscription(s), and (b) reconciling all payment activity and all other transactional information that is associated with your subscriptions.

You may modify or cancel your subscription at any time by visiting Your Memberships and Subscriptions . The third-party seller of your subscription may cancel your subscription in accordance with the terms and conditions applicable to the relevant subscription. Javelined reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue processing payments in connection with your subscription at any time and without notice (except as required by applicable law) and Javelined will not be liable to you should it exercise such right.

We may make changes to these terms at any time (including for legal or regulatory reasons; for security reasons; to enhance existing features or add additional features) by posting the revised terms. Your continued participation in your subscription constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to any changes, you must cancel your subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time by visiting Your Memberships and Subscriptions . If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that provision will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provision.

4. Important Information Regarding Smart Devices

Certain services, features and apps on Javelined may:

  • Require an internet connection or in-app purchases,
  • Be subject to a fee (including a subscription fee),
  • Vary by location or not be available in all areas,
  • Include tracking mechanisms and/or
  • Be subject to change, in accordance with applicable law.

5. Auto-Renewal Product Insurance Subscriptions

Auto-Renewal Product Insurance is a subscription service that offers accidental damage protection and failure outside the manufacturer's warranty for eligible items, for a monthly fee.

Auto-Renewal Product Insurance policies are available for new (unused) and certified refurbished items, purchased from Javelined. If an Auto-Renewal Product Insurance policy is available for the product you're interested in covering, you'll see a widget at the top right of the product detail page.

This insurance subscription is offered to residents in Germany and can be purchased for one eligible item per policy. The insurance policy must be purchased on the same day that the insured item is purchased on Javelined. Policy documents that describe the product being insured and the terms of the insurance are emailed to the address associated with your Javelined account within 24 hours of placing your order.

Subscriptions renew monthly. For example, if your subscription begins on the 5th of the month, we'll charge the card used to purchase the plan monthly until the policy expires or you cancel it. You can't change the monthly billing date.

6. File an A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury

You are eligible to file an A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury when the following conditions are met:

  • Defective products purchased in the Javelined store caused property damage or personal injury;
  • AND the incident (property damage or personal injury) occurred within the last 90 days or within 1 year from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first.

You can file your claim by contacting our Customer Service.

  • Select Customer Service from your account section on Javelined
  • Select Help with Something else.
  • Select Something else.
  • Select I need more help.
  • Select either Request a phone call or Chat with us to report the issue.

You must file your claim within 90 days after the incident causing property damage or personal injury occurs, or within 1 year from the date of purchase of the defective products from the Javelined store, whichever occurs first.

Within 72 hours, you'll receive a request from Javelined or our third-party administrator to provide evidence supporting your claim.

We'll work with you directly or through our external claims administrator to collect information, investigate the claim, and attempt to facilitate a resolution with you, the selling partner and their insurance providers.

7. Providing evidence to support your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury

How to upload files to your claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury.

To investigate your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury, you’ll need to provide evidence of your loss, like insurance records, photographs, repair bills, wage records, or medical bills.

To add more details or upload attachments:

  • Go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions .
  • Locate your order in the orders list.
  • Select Problem with order.
  • Next to the relevant order, navigate to Refund request status.
  • Select Upload to submit supporting attachments as evidence.

You can submit files with a max. 20-MB size in the following format: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG.

You'll receive an email notification when our investigation is complete. If more information is needed, our A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury team will inform you via email.

To avoid suspension of your request, provide the requested information within 72 hours of receiving the email communication.

Missing supporting evidence may result in a denial of your claim. Ensure you collect all evidence before you file an A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury.

8. View the Status of your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury

To view the status of your claim:

  • Go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions .
  • Locate your order in the orders list.
  • Select Problem with Order.
  • The current status of the claim is displayed in the Refund Request Status section.

Updates related to your claim will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

If your claim is approved, you'll receive an email confirmation from Javelined or our third-party administrator. This email notification will contain an offer of compensation and details on how to accept the offer.

9. Withdraw an A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury

To cancel your claim request:

  • Go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions .
  • Locate the order associated with the claim.
  • Select Problem with order.
  • Select Cancel refund and enter your comments regarding the claim withdrawal in the text box.
  • Select Submit.

10. Appeal a decision regarding an A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury

If your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury was denied and you have more information we can review, you can submit an appeal within 30 calendar days of the decision. Note : Missing supporting evidence may result in a denial of your appeal. Ensure you collect all evidence before you submit an appeal regarding your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Property Damage and Personal Injury.

To submit an appeal:

  • Compile all evidence (for example: insurance records, photographs, repair bills, wage records, or medical bills) for your appeal.
  • Go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions .
  • Locate the order associated with the claim.
  • Select Problem with order.
  • Select Add more details.
  • Enter your comments supporting the appeal in the text box and upload more evidence.
  • Select Submit.

11. A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury

The A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury supports customers in the rare instance where a defective product sold in the Javelined store (Germany and worldwide) causes property damage or personal injury - including products sold by Javelined or by a third-party seller.

The A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury doesn't cover digital items, payments for services, stored value instruments such as gift cards, or products sold through other stores by parties who might otherwise be affiliated with Javelined.

We reserve the right to determine the amount, if any, to offer you to resolve your claim, and we may reject claims that we believe are unsubstantiated, frivolous, or abusive, or claims that aren't covered by the A-to-z Guarantee Claims Process.

Any offers of compensation made through the A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury will be limited to:

  • The purchase price of the product AND
  • compensation limits for medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage caused by a defective product purchased on Javelined.

If you have already received compensation from another source such as the seller or manufacturer, you won't be eligible for recovery through the A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury.

Javelined, as independent data controllers, process your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy . In case the evidence provided to support your Personal Injury claim under the A-to-z Guarantee includes medical and health information, we need your consent to process that information for the purpose of investigating and processing the Personal Injury claim, including any necessary exchange of such data between Javelined, its affiliates and the third-party administrator.

If you wish to withdraw the consent provided to Javelined for collection and processing of medical and health information related to A-to-z Guarantee personal injury claims, you can do so by withdrawing your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Personal Injury. For approved claims, you can withdraw your consent by contacting Customer Service. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of use of your personal health information based on consent before its withdrawal. We may retain information if needed in line with our legal obligations, including applicable commercial laws, for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, and for preventing fraud/ensuring security.

12. A-to-z Claims Process Terms and Conditions

By making a claim for compensation for property damage or personal injury under the A-to-z Claims Process, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

As a convenience to you (our customers), Javelined offers a quick and efficient process for attempting to resolve requests for compensation for personal injury and property damage caused by defective products purchased through Javelined (the A-to-z Claims Process or Process). The Process is not insurance or a warranty, and it does not replace any applicable insurance or warranty that may be available to you. The Process does not guarantee payment of any amount, and Javelined reserves the right to reject any request made through this process without it impacting your other rights. By offering this Process, we are not waiving any other rights or assuming any other obligations than those expressly stated in these terms.

The A-to-z Claims Process applies only to physical products you have purchased through Javelined, regardless of who sells those products. It does not cover digital items, payments for services, stored value instruments, or products sold through other stores by parties who might otherwise be affiliated with Javelined.

Any offers of compensation made through the A-to-z Claims Process will be limited to

  • the purchase price of the product; and
  • compensation limits for medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage proximately caused by a defective product.

Javelined will not offer to compensate you for non-economic damages, business losses, consequential and incidental damages, attorney fees, punitive damages, or other losses.

You are not obligated to make claims through the A-to-z Claims Process. If you choose to make a claim through the A-to-z Claims Process, you must do so within 90 days after the incident giving rise to your claim occurs or within 1 year from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first. If you choose not to make a claim or miss this deadline, neither you nor Javelined waives any rights or defenses relating to any claims you might have.

If you do make a claim through the A-to-z Claims Process, you agree you will not file a claim in an alternative forum (like in court) until we have a chance to notify you of a decision on your claim. Claims made under the A-to-z Claims Process are usually resolved within 90 days.

In order to file a complete claim, you will provide enough information to allow us to investigate your claim. If you are filing a claim for personal injury or property damage, you will need to provide evidence of your loss, like insurance records, photographs, repair bills, wage records, or medical bills. We may ask you for more information in order to complete your claim. By making a claim, you authorize us or our agents to contact any third parties who may have knowledge of your claim to inquire about your claim, including your medical providers, your insurers, or any witnesses to the event. You also authorize us to share information about your claim with parties necessary to investigate your claim, including the seller, their insurer, and our insurer. Javelined may require your signature on any document necessary to document such authorization. Javelined and its agents reserve the right to determine the amount, if any, to offer you to attempt resolve a claim made through the A-to-z Claims Process. We will act in good faith to offer you fair compensation. We may involve the seller in our determination and we may use independent sources like insurance industry schedules. We may reject claims that we believe are unsubstantiated, frivolous, or abusive. We may reject claims if you do not respond to our requests for information or if the information you provide is inaccurate. We may reject claims if there is not sufficient evidence that the product was defective or if the defect did not cause the damage claimed by the customer. We may reject claims that we believe would be better suited to resolution in court. If we reject a claim for any reason, neither you nor Javelined waives any rights or defenses relating to any claims you might have.

You are under no obligation to accept our offer to resolve your claim, but if you do accept it you agree that the claim is settled and finally resolved as to Javelined and the seller who sold you the product. To the extent allowable by law, you will also assign your claim and related rights to us so that we can pursue recovery from other sources in our discretion. You may be required to sign a release and assignment form.

If you have already received compensation from another source such as the seller or manufacturer, you will not be eligible for recovery through the A-to-z Claims Process.

Any claims you make through the A-to-z Claims Process will be subject to the Javelined Conditions of Use, including its choice of law and dispute resolution provisions. In the event of a conflict between the Javelined Conditions of Use and these Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions will govern.
